||
(Alexandria, VA) – Thomas M. Hager, age 34, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced to death today by a federal jury sitting in Alexandria, Virginia, for the 1993 murder of Barbara White. Chuck Rosenberg, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; Joseph Persichini, Jr., Assistant Director in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Washington Field Office; and, Colonel David M. Rohrer, Chief of Police, Fairfax County Police Department, made the announcement after the verdict was accepted by United States District Judge T.S. Ellis, III.
Hager was found guilty by a federal jury on October 17, 2007. She was killed because of a violent confrontation Hager had instigated with a rival Washington, D.C. drug crew. Arlington Johnson, Jr., was sentenced by Judge Ellis on April 21, 2006, to life in prison. Barnett was sentenced by Judge Ellis on February 17, 2006, to life in prison.
United States Attorney Rosenberg stated, “My thoughts and prayers are with Barbara’s family, now and always.”
