Falls Church Man Sentenced to Five Years for Receipt of Child Pornography
(Alexandria, VA) -Louis Lope De Haro, age 59, of Falls Church, Virginia, was sentenced to five years in prison today for receiving child pornography over the internet. Dana J. Boente, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and Joseph Persichini, Jr., Assistant Director in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Washington Field Office, made the announcement following Lope De Haro's sentencing before United States District Court Judge James C. Cacheris.
In addition to his term of imprisonment, Judge Cacheris also ordered Lope De Haro to serve a term of 15 years of supervised release and to register as a sex offender following his release from prison.
According to court documents, Lope De Haro was identified by law enforcement during a national investigation of individuals trading child pornography. A partial forensic examination of materials seized from Lope De Haro's residence uncovered thousands of images and videos of child pornography, including images of sadistic and masochistic conduct.
The investigation was conducted by the Northern Virginia Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation with the assistance of Fairfax County Police Department's Child Exploitation Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jay V. Prabhu with the assistance of Trial Attorney Andrew McCormack from Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section of the U.S. Department of Justice.
