Six years ago, we helped form the Arab, Muslim, and Sikh Advisory Council (AMSAC) to create transparency and stronger communication between the Washington Field Office and multiple religious communities.
Since then, the council and the Washington Field Office have worked together to host various town hall meetings and open forums. The enhanced dialogue strengthens our ability to prevent terrorist attacks and to protect the public from being victimized.
In these quarterly meetings, AMSAC and WFO executives share cultural, linguistic, and contextual expertise and work to prevent hate crimes by building relationships with community members who are not afraid to come forward with information.
